Sanderson has secured a contract from high-street jewellers Goldsmiths Group to provide a Liberty ODBC solution on a PowerPC 604-based dual-processor Bull Escalla server.
The new system will allow Goldsmiths to link up all their machines throughout the company, enabling them to have quicker and easier access to the corporate database. They expect the new system to result in better management of all aspects of the business as well as making them more efficient and cost effective.
Sanderson headed off competition from a number of other major software suppliers to win the contract, valued at about £100,000. The £70m company is regarded as the UK’s leading independent supplier of open systems computer solutions, ranking in the top 10 in the UK and 13th in Europe.
