Saffron Computer Services, one of the UK's leading suppliers of local government housing management software, has reached an agreement with McDonnell Information Systems (MDIS) to distribute Saffron's Integrated Housing Management System as part of their portfolio. Together, the two companies have the largest installed base of local government housing systems in the country.
Saffron was established in 1986 to supply software and services to local government and housing organisations. It has been particularly successful in the London Boroughs, with several of its 34 local authority and housing association customers located there.
Russell Francis, MD of Saffron, said of the MDIS deal: "This agreement is a clear endorsement of our company.... we now have the largest installed base of local government housing systems and will significantly increase the market share through our direct and partner activities."
The distribution agreement forms part of MDIS' long-term strategy to deliver successful solutions to its customers. Martin Fowler, Director, Public Sector at MDIS, commented: "First and foremost we are a systems integrator. By forging strong relationships with key applications suppliers we can provide our customers with the best integrated solutions available."
