Sanderson eases the traffic flow for Gloucester

Local government IT specialist Sanderson has secured a contract from Gloucester City Council to provide an integrated parking enforcement system.

The council will spend approximately £30,000 on the system over the next five years, to help keep the streets of the historic city free of illegally parked cars.

"We carried out an extensive evaluation programme, but the Sanderson system was the best in terms of product quality, support and value for money. Its good reputation was also a factor in our decision. The system will be used for speeding up a number of administrative tasks including residents' parking permits and excess charge notices," said senior engineer Mike Batheram.

The new system will help the council to improve the efficiency of notice processing and provide more effective administration of fines and parking permits.

Sanderson is one of the largest suppliers of computer software and systems to local government although it provides solutions to more than 10 different industry sectors including manufacturing, healthcare and airports. Listed on the London Stock Exchange, Sanderson has more than 1,000 employees and maintains offices throughout the UK, USA and southern Pacific.
