Langford Lodge Engineering Ltd invest £450,000 in integrated manufacturing systems from Sanderson

Aerospace component manufacturer Langford Lodge Engineering Limited has signed a £450,000 contract with Sanderson for its integrated manufacturing management system PICS.

Langford Lodge, based in County Antrim, has invested in the full suite of PICS modules including financial, logistics and production management, to replace its existing MAAPICS system. The new system will be implemented over the next twelve months.

Langford employs over 200 people in the manufacturing and testing of components for the aerospace industry, and is poised to expand, having recently won a contract to supply components to Lucas Aerospace for the Airbus.

The decision to install PICS came after a two-year review of availale MRPII systems. Jim Hill, general manager at Langford Lodge, said they had to be sure they were making the right choice.

"As we have already had many years experience operating MRPII within our business we had to satisfy ourselves at the detailed level that the solution we chose could meet our requirements. It was only after a rigorous review that it became clear that PICS was the system which had the necessary functionality and flexibility. It was also important to us that our supplier was a substantial computer systems company that could deliver and support a full IT solution."
