Scottish Health Service User Group places £2.6m IT services order with MDIS

The Scottish Health Service User Group, which comprises twelve NHS Trust hospitals, has confirmed its commitment to MDIS in a new £2.6 million contract for IT services.

The new five year agreement reconfirms the Scottish Health Service User Group's members' high level of satisfaction with the professional IT services provided by MDIS, and its long-term commitment to the company.

MDIS will deliver a number of important commercial advantages to the Trusts through the new contract, including the ability to have fixed, predictable IT costs which will assist long-term planning and budgeting.

MDIS is to provide a comprehensive help desk service for the twelve hospitals, which will present a central reception point for all calls and will enable assistance to be provided wherever it is needed, rapidly and efficiently.

As part of the agreement MDIS will install the first phase of ExPRess, teh next generation of its Patient Management System running on the Reality database, at each of the NHS Trusts.

In addition, the hospitals will have the opportunity to utilise Impromptu, Cognos' leading Business Intelligence (BI) tool, for interactive database analysis and reporting, which MDIS supplies and supports as Cognos' preferred BI partner.
