jBASE Software announces partnership with ISG for desktop interoperability

JBASE Software and International Software Group (ISG) have announced an agreement whereby jBASE will embed the ISG Navigator product in its newly-announced Enterprise version of the jBASE application development and database management system.

ISG Navigator provides a powerful and flexible API that, in addition to OLE DB, includes ODBC, JDBC and ADO. This will allow data held in jBASE to be accessed from almost all popular development tools, reporting and business intelligence products.

"OLE DB provides the ability to use the power of the MultiValued architecture while allowing standards based access from mainstream solutions. No longer will our customers be constrained by the flat ODBC model," said Dave Bryant, jBASE VP Sales & Marketing. "This partnership with the leading OLE DB provider in the world puts us in a superb position to take advantage of Microsoft's stated desktop connectivity direction."

"ISG Navigator's ability to interact with all classes of databases while preserving the native performance characteristics of each is the perfect match for jBASE, offering a cost-effective Universal Data Access solution for their customers," said Arie Gonen, ISG CEO and chairman. "Our long-term licensing agreement ensures that jBASE's users will be able to effectively utilize any development tool, Internet server, and business intelligence solution they choose without any migration pain or lost productivity. This is yet another significant licensing agreement with a leading vendor and continues ISG's success securing OEM distribution partnerships."
