Leading supplier of IT services and software, Sanderson, will be unveiling state-of-the-art enhancements to its flexible, integrated manufacturing management system, PICS, on stand 130 at this year’s CIM (Computers In Manufacturing) Show.
As well as AIX and Unix, PICS now runs on Microsoft Windows NT. PICS continues to be developed in conjunction with leading manufacturing companies. Recent enhancements and developments for PICS users include:
E-commerce developments
‘Next Generation’ Internet enabling features have been developed to ensure PICS
users can access data from remote locations. These give manufacturers, customers
and suppliers secure global access to schedules and work-in-progress.
Improved speed and accuracy of data collection
PICS utilises a range of leading-edge technology designed specifically for the
speed and accuracy of data collection, including bar-code wands and guns, radio
handheld terminals, time and attendance clocks, shop floor data collection systems
and touch-screen PCs.
IT Lifecycle services
Alongside its continual product development programme, Sanderson provides IT
services beyond the ‘go live’ date. Ranging from strategic reviews to total
project management, IT Lifecycle Services enable Sanderson to take responsibility
for the total project development and application management, providing PICS
users with expertise and direct access to ongoing product enhancements.
PICS continues to be successful in a number of manufacturing industries, with the latest investors including special steels finisher and stockist Sanderson Special Steels (no relation!), bridge manufacturer Mabey & Johnson Ltd and precision gauge manufacturer Yorkshire Precision Gauges Ltd.
