Sanderson, the leading IT services and software supplier to the airport sector, has secured over £1 million of new contracts from the airport sector for its integrated airport management system Airport 20:20. The major international and UK-based airports that have invested in the Sanderson system are: London City Airport, Leeds/Bradford Aiport, Newcastle Airport, Baku International Airport (Azerbaijan) and Wellington (New Zealand).
London City Airport will install the full Airport 20:20, beginning immediately with the SIGN 2000 flight information display system (FIDS) and a public address system and gradually building up to a system that shares data between all departments as well as the public FIDS.
Jonathan Smith at London City Airport says: “The system will improve our efficiency and ultimately our service to passengers. We need to ensure that everyone in the airport - staff as well as travelling customers - is working to the same information and that this data is 100% accurate and up-to-date at all times. Airport 20:20 is the key to delivering the quickest and most efficient informaion to both management and passengers.”
Baku has installed Airport 20:20 to control the flow of information to 48 check-in desks and deliver an airport-wide FIDS.
Leeds/Bradford has upgraded its existing Sanderson system to incorporate new technology. Long-standing customer Newcastle International Airport is set to install a new check-in desk system that integrates with the existing Sanderson system.
Airport 20:20 is a totally integrated airport management system built around a complete understanding of how an airport operates and how the daily business can be improved. Data is fed into Airport 20:20 from the tower and distributed on a shared database throughout the airport. The system can feed all types of display including plasma screens. Open Systems technology on NT and Unix platforms bring speed and power to the system. Relational database technology means that Airport 20:20 is the most flexible and sophisticated management information tool available for airports.
