At the EPIC '98 exhibition, a specialist forum for the public sector held at Birmingham ICC, MDIS will be celebrating 30 years of delivering successful solutions to hundreds of Public Service Organisations. These include 180 NHS Trusts, 149 Local Authorities, 48 Police Forces, the MOD, DSS and other central government departments all of which use MDIS' advanced information technology to help deliver Best Value services.
Prime Minister Tony Blair has stated that by 2002 25% of the public's dealings with government will be electronic and MDIS' exhibition stand (number 300) will feature the latest "kiosk" technology designed to support such communication with the community. These kiosks, or public information and communication points, employ easy to use, proven touch-screen technology to enable direct exchange of information between Public Service Organisations and the citizens they serve.
With increasing electronic access the need for intellligent management and
presentation of information is essential. MDIS' Business Intelligence solutions
unlock existing data allowing strategic use, deliveing new and more useful services
and encouraging increased electronic contact with the community,. This process
itself will enable more accurate measurement of performance - resulting in the
ability to meet Best Value objectives.
