GA announces availability of TransVerse

One of the key requirements for GA's resellers and developers has been the need to extend the MultiValue database development environment into Visual Basic, to enable the creation of GUI-ized or browser enabled applications.

Although mv.BASE features an SDK, providing a set of APIs for interfacing to the database, our resellers wanted an enhanced set of tools to simplify the creation of the Visual Basic client.

GA is pleased to announce the availability of TransVerse, the development tool that extends Visual Basic development environment to allow for integration with MultiValue and SQL databases.

Unlike UniVerse Objects, TransVerse works with all MultiValue and relational databases. Thus, your Visual Basic client applications can work across your MultiValue database environments including: mv.BASE, mv.ENTERPRISE, Power95plus, R91, Mentor PRO, SEQUOIApro, Pick AP, D3, UniVerse, and Unidata.

TransVerse features the following:

Single Development Environment
The Visual Basic programmer is able to perform all of their database-linked development activities from within the native Visual Basic IDE, including database design, entry of test data and server-side programming.

Rapid Application Development
By providing the Visual Basic programmer with a suite of powerful multidimensional aware databound ActiveX controls, application development times are reduced dramatically.

Fast Wizard-based Development
TransVerse comes with a wizard-based databound form generator that can be used to "kick-start" your learning/development process.

MultiValue Aware
All of the TransVerse components are fully MultiValue aware. This means that the developer can utilize all their existing database expertise and reduce their Windows-skills learning curve.

Full Legacy Application Integration
For the MultiValue developer, TransVerse offers both data-based and subroutine-based integration with legacy applications.

Database Explorer
The Database Explorer within TransVerse is a true Visual Basic Add-In. By integrating with the native VB IDE, it allows the developer to perform all their database development activities without leaving the VB environment.

TransVerse incorporates a suite of databound Active-X controls, providing a range of "Power-developer" features to drastically reduce the amount of event-handler coding and to encourage standardization of program, structure and appearance.

Windows-based Data Basic Editor
For the MultiValue developer, TransVerse incorporates a colourising Windows editor for the development and compilation of server-based database routines.

TransVerse for the Web
Provides and extends the HTML language with TransVerse statements, which interface to your MultiValue database.
