The Annual General Meeting of MDIS Group plc featured a cautiously optimistic statement from chairman Ian Hay Davison, recapitulating points from the 1998 Annual Report and other recent transactions, including: Revenues up 13.8%; Operating profit up by £4.7m to £3.1m, from a £1.6m loss; Basic earnings per share up from 0.22p to 3.19p; A property transaction relating to the Group’s Hemel Hempstead HQ resulting in annual savings of approximately £2m; Transfer of the Group’s EPOS maintenance business to ADS Anker Group for £3.9m. The chairman concluded with a caution that 1999 was expected to be an unpredictable year for the industry as a whole, although he felt the Group to be well-positioned to meet the new challenges.
