Pixel’s HostAccess now browser-enabled

Pixel’s premier PC to host connectivity solution is now browser-enabled, offering users the ability to integrate the desktop with the web.

HOSTACCESS, with integrated web-browser capabilities, is the latest version of Pixel’s powerful connectivity solution. HOSTACCESS has evolved from Pixel’s previous solution called TERMiTE. HOSTACCESS offers end users and developers the ability to simplify the integration of the Web with business applications.

HOSTACCESS can be launched from a hyperlink within the browser page, either to run in its own browser window or within any frame within the current browser window. For example, all legacy applications run immediately using the proven terminal emulations provided by Pixel, which means instant implementation. These features combined with the power to launch specific session parameters and macros from the hyperlink allow a multitude of uses.

HOSTACCESS also automatically integrates its own menu system and Icons within the Web-Browsers menus and toolbars. This feature allows the user to control multiple web-to-host sessions via the MSM (Multi-Session Manager) applet, which is placed in the system tray when a session is started.

A HOSTACCESS demonstration setup recently showed four different terminal emulations running within a single Internet Explorer instance. Each session was communicating with each of the four different systems around the globe at the same time. Using the GUI capabilities in HOSTACCESS, it is even possible to have a graphically enhanced version of your character systems running within the browser, greatly expanding the life of your systems.

HOSTACCESS supports running sessions in Internet Explorer and Netscape’s Communicator. A demonstration is available on the Pixel website at http://www.pixel-group.com.
