International IT services group Sanderson has been awarded what is believed to be the UK’s largest ever contract for traffic management IT systems and services.
The system will cost over £2m, the bulk of which is to be met by a government grant awarded through the Traffic Director for London.
Its purpose is to increase the enforcement of the Red Route network legislation by the Met’s Traffic Warden service. This will be achieved by real time monitoring of vehicles and allows for targeted enforcement through statistical analysis, using data gathered electronically by the wardens.
In addition to software, Sanderson will provide Husky hand-held data capture units, project management, remote administration services and training.
