- Release 7.2 of D3 ProPlus is officially in production from September 11th
1999.
- After 23 years with MDIS, on both Reality and Reality/X, the City of Wakefield
Metropolitan District Council has plumped for jBASE Software. jBASE’s built-in
OLE DB, ODBC, ADO and JDBC interconnectivity features were cited as factors
in the decision.
- New Malden-based recruitment consultants IT Prospects have merged with Apex

- MIS Computer Services Limited have moved to their new purpose-built offices

- Kewill Systems plc has acquired US e-commerce business Aristo for £11.6m
in cash and shares. Kewill now holds an estimated 70% share of the rapidly-expanding
US multi-carrier shipping market.

- Capitol Business Services have released a demonstration CD-ROM of their
UNITRACK-D container M&R depot solution. The disc, which runs on Windows 95,
98 and NT, gives a screen-by-screen presentation outlining the benefits of
the base UNITRACK-D system, which provides all necessary features to manage
and control container movements within the depot. Mike Schwarzer, Capitol’s
sales Director, commented: “We’ve launched the CD in response to the rise
in demand for information on UNITRACK-D. We are now being bombarded with enquiries
every week from container facilities as our reputation spreads.”
- jBASE has released version 3.3 of the jBASE MV and SQL database management
system. Version 3.3 includes high compatibility with Prime, Universe and Unidata
meaning jBASE now covers the entire spectrum of MV variants.
- Sherwood International plc and Deloitte & Touche subsidiary, CSL Group Limited
are joining forces to provide a range of services encompassing applications
and facilities management, business process outsourcing and transitional outsourcing.
The outsourcing services will utilise Sherwood’s AMARTA solutions to deliver
enhanced cost savings and business flexibility to clients.
