MitsMaker release announced

Management Information Tools, Inc. has again turned the data management economy upside down with the February 29 release of the MitsMaker ETL (extraction, transformation and loading) tool. MitsMaker enables rapid deployment of OLAP hypercubes as an add-on to the MITS Interactive Reporting System that has redefined business intelligence for MultiValue platforms.

MITS systems are firmly entrenched in a wide range of business areas: distribution, manufacturing, health care and services to name a few. MitsMaker cultivates new ground by putting OLAP hypercube creation into the hands of consultants and end-users, empowering them to develop their own OLAP/interactive reporting systems with a very affordable suite of tools.

MitsMaker is a Windows-based client attached to any MultiValue system and allows point-and-click design of an operational data-to-MITS hypercube transformation. Extracted data from MitsMaker goes straight into a hypercube ready for access by the MitsView OLAP windows client.

The MITS hypercube created by MitsMaker is co-resident with the operational application in the MultiValue system, eliminating the expense and complication of sending data to a separate computer for access by third party software products. This complete, turnkey system is the MultiValue world’s only one-step OLAP development system, creating useable OLAP cubes in single operation instead of “staging” the data for a third party product to continue processing.

MitsMaker leverages the powerful MultiValue dictionary methodology to assist in accessing operational data and to allow individual transaction routines to cleanse information during extraction. The rapid deployment design allows for quick creation of an OLAP hypercube, swift review of the results, and fast modification and recreation of the interface.

MitsMaker interfaces are transportable from one system to another by storing the interface definition in a “maker” Windows file. This facilitates quick installation of MITS interfaces by MultiValue VARS. Once an interface has been created for a specific application such as sales or inventory, the VAR can easily install the same interface, modify it as required, and make it immediately operational for another customer.
