jBASE Software appoints new European Vice President

jBASE Software Limited, the fast-growing UK specialist in Database Management Systems and web application software, has appointed Yves Le Gouguec as European Vice President of Sales.

The appointment of Le Gouguec to this newly created position signals the start of an aggressive phase of growth for jBASE within the European Community. In his new role at jBASE, Le Gouguec will be responsible for developing the company’s operation within the European Community, building a comprehensive partner and reseller strategy whilst fostering growth and use of the jBASE product and supporting services.

As jBASE’s European Vice President of Sales, Le Gouguec plans to position the company as a strategic partner for distributors and Value Added Resellers involved with multiple, complex application development projects by providing an informed and rapid technical support service based on clients’ operational needs. jBASE’s established product set will also be extended and broadened with the introduction of new technologies and service offerings to match the nature of European Community developments.

Le Gouguec, with over 20 years in senior technical and sales management positions within the IT industry, was most recently with Pick Systems, now renamed as Raining Data. During his time at Pick Systems, Le Gouguec, a key European director of the organisation, transformed the company from a static “wait for the order” state of mind to a more proactive customer-centric organisation with a business-like oriented attitude, and bucked market trends by bringing a consistent growth of 30% per annum for each of his three years there.

“Throughout the Economic Union traditional DBMS licence support is failing distributors and VARs alike,” commented Le Gouguec. “Corporations are being ‘short-changed’ with poor backup and inadequate technical support. jBASE is a first class DBMS and has developed and proven the concept of customer-centric service, which harnesses scarce resources around the world to assist customers whenever needed. jBASE has huge potential in every aspect and I am very excited to be part of the venture.”

Le Gouguec continues: “For me, the jBASE product actually gives application developers what they want and really does deliver the promises of support and ongoing improvements, unlike many other major DBMS providers I can think of!”

“jBASE is positioned in a high-growth market with an excellent product. The company has an enviable sales conversion record,” continued Le Gouguec. “Our biggest challenge is to reach corporates with DBMS issues and show them a better way to develop and build mission critical applications.”

Commenting on the appointment Clive Ketteridge, jBASE’s co-founder and managing director, said: “Yves joins us at a very exciting time, signalling the start of our aggressive plans for sustainable growth within the European Union. With his exceptional industry knowledge and outstanding record of achievement, we are now well on the way to making significant increases in our market share. With a strong emphasis on the technical strength of the jBASE product and our knowledgeable customer-centric culture, Yves will be building a new sales and support team within the European Union which will capitalise on jBASE’s proven technological superiority. In this demanding marketplace we plan to achieve over 100% compound growth per annum over the next three years.

“Our research has shown that many companies are becoming increasingly frustrated with the inherent ideological and architectural limitations of SQL-based Database Management Systems and enthusiastically welcome jBASE’s high performance multi-dimensional approach, especially for Web applications that need power, speed and reliability.

“jBASE’s sustained and continued growth to date reflects the thinking that enlightened developers have seen through the marketing puff and questionable performance claims of many of our SQL-based competitors who are merely continuing to produce slow and costly products which rely purely on aging branding”.
