XSoft, a software house from Portugal, have made the switch from Raining Data to jBASE to provide the tools they need. Xsoft specialise in the automotive industry and the editorial book industry, but also provide software for clothing retailers, electrical manufacturers, book retailers, furniture retailers and travel agencies. They have developed a broad range of applications including accounting, payroll, invoicing and stock control.
Vasco Antonio, the owner of Xsoft, explains to MV News the reasons for his change
of heart.
“First of all, it seemed to us that with jBASE, we were dealing with high technology software, offering high levels of compatibility, allowing easy migration from Pick R83, Advanced Pick, D3 and others.

Some important companies are serious about leaving the MultiValue DBMS, throwing away all the software they have developed, and start looking for other databases, but with jBASE, we have reversed this situation completely and explained that there is no need to find other solutions.
